Notice on each side: 60 days vs 30 days… what to look for … what shifts to work
Harrison Barnes story
How do you handle being overwhelmed at a new gig and how do you move on?
Don’t get in the way of others: stay out of sight
When you make a complaint about a situation, be prepared. Also know that you’re a guest. Best case scenario is to make the complaint and not discuss it with the staff. Mind your own business and look for an exit strategy
Always have income to last at least 6 months in case you lose a gig or get sick
Have places you can go to i.e surgery centers to fill in the time as you get credentialed
- Takeovers pay more and quick Credentialing- be sure to get there
- Compact license
- States without compact license:MA, CA, CT, MN, etc
- When you have a compact license you only need to make sure your home state license is active and in good standing. That’s the only fee you pay after obtaining multiple state licenses
- States that do not require CRNA license, they operate ONLY with RN license for that state plus your NBCRNA board certificate: IN, NY, etc
- HSA investing
- Negotiating a regular rate vs OT rate: most clients WILL NOT give you hours for a very high OT rate. They will not require you after 40 hours because they’re not willing to pay you 300/hr for OT. They have their own PRN crnas that they use to fill the needs, or use residents. It’s better to get a high regular rate even though your OT rate might be 30-40$ higher. That way your higher regular rate covers you.
- Lodging stipend bullshit!!!!
